Liz Borkowski, MPH is a Research Associate at The George Washington University’s School of Public Health and Health Services. She covers occupational health and safety and other public-health topics for the public health blog The Pump Handle. She holds an MPH in health policy from the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services.

Celeste Monforton
Celeste Monforton, DrPH, MPH is a professorial lecturer at The George Washington University’s School of Public Health and Health Services.  She earned her masters of public health in 2004 and her doctorate of public health in 2008.  Celeste worked at the US Department of Labor’s OSHA (1991-1995) as a policy analyst, and at MSHA (1996-2001) as special assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Labor.  Her research interests include regulatory policy and its affect on implementing timely protection for workers from occupational health hazards.  In 2006, Celeste served with J. Davitt McAteer on a special investigation of the January 2006 Sago Mine disaster and in 2010 was appointed to WV Governor Manchin's special team investigating the explosion at Massey Energy's Upper Big Branch mine which took the lives of 29 coal miners.
